Facebook Messenger: A UX Redesign Case Study

 

Overview


This redesign is geared towards improving the design values of Facebook messenger’s current iteration by re-establishing the means of communication foci and introducing a newer channel of communication for another Facebook product, Marketplace.

Scope & Constraints


Time Constraints: 3 months (January 2021 – March 2021) to ideate, conceptualize and develop an app.

Scope: Redesign a prominent instant messaging app to address the user needs around shopping through a secondary market existing within the entire platform.

Tools I Used: Figma, Google Forms
We operated with these constraints along with an extremely low budget. Due to this, we used these tools to cut costs while retaining ease of use and the ability to keep up developing designs working with industry standard platforms.
